Twenty five years after production of the coveted F1 supercar ended, McLaren is once again putting drivers in the centre seat with the Speedtail, a 2.25 million USD hyper-grandtourer, 1,035bhp hypercar that places its driver in the middle, with place for two additional passengers either side. As much a spaceship as it is a land vehicle, it comes equipped with carbon fibre covers for the front wheels and flexible, active aero surfaces at the rear that help maximize efficiency and downforce, making this the fastest production car in the world – not in terms of top speed mind you (that still goes to the Bugatti Chiron) but acceleration (it will go from a standstill to 300 km/h in just 12.8 seconds). Only 106 will be made and they have all been sold already.
