Universal Genève is not a name you may know but it’s a #watch brand with a great #legacy that dates back to 1894. Well, it was acquired by #Breitling last year for $69 million and they’re going to position it above Breitling as a very cool high-end brand with products like the #Polerouter, which was designed by the legend (and creator of the #RoyalOak and #Nautilus) #GeraldGenta, for the pilots of #SAS as a watch that would withstand the magnetic fields of the North Pole, a route that SAS pioneered to save time to Los Angeles. The Universal brand won’t actually launch till 2026 but in the meantime they have created three one-off watches, one of which (with the stainless steel mesh bracelet) will be put to auction in May 2025 with Phillips. We have long professed our love for #Aman resorts predominantly because of how they changed hoteldom through a pioneering strategy of creating stunning #hotels in far-flung locations with limited rooms at high rates — discretely advertised just by word-of-mouth.
